Community Guidelines
1. Feel free to list classes, fundraisers, exhibition or events that are related to needlework in the Events section. You can add links to another website, dates, time, etc..
2. Keep the discussion on topic when replying. If another topic is introduced, start a separate thread so that others can follow.
3. Please be positive in your posts. We are open to new ideas and thrive on all the creativity out there. Please don't flame Newbies who make a faux pas - be friendly. Don't post demeaning comments. This is a family friendly group don't post inappropriate material as it will be removed.
4. Swaps, round robbins, stitch a longs and challenges are organized through a group.
5. Please limit your photo uploads to 10-15 photos. Once you have that many, delete older photos. If you have a Flickr account, please use it as it saves bandwidth on our site. Please keep all photos related to the topic of needlework.
6. Use the groups for more specific discussions. Any member can create a group. The group moderator is whoever started the group. The moderator needs to monitor the group and keep it going in the original stated direction for as long as is necessary
Messages
How do I check my messages? You can check messages by clicking on the "Inbox" link located in the upper right corner of the page, under the brown bar. A panel will appear where you can compose messages and read messages you've received.
How do I manage email notifications? You can manage your email settings by clicking on the "My Settings" link in the right column.
My Page
How do I change the theme of my page on a network? When you join Stitcherie, a profile page is created for you. You can edit your page's theme by logging in and clicking the My Page tab. Follow the link at the left to "Manage My Page." Under the My Page Settings, you can change your theme on the Appearance page. You can choose a theme for your page, entirely separate from the network's theme, and customize the color of each item on the page.
What is a text box? What can I put in my text box? A text box is a box to which you can add a variety of content. It's just another way to make your page your own! Simply click the "Edit" button in the top right corner of the text box on your My Page to get started. You can add the following to the text box on your page: Text, HTML, Pictures, Widgets
How do I change my profile photo? Log in to the site and click the "Settings" link on the right side of the page. Click the "Browse" button under the Photo header to locate an image on your computer. When you upload a new photo, the old one will be deleted. New profile photos can take awhile to show up.
Photos
How do I add photos? Log in and click the Photos link in the left sidebar. You can upload photos from your computer, mobile phone, Flickr, or email account. You can upload pictures to your blog post by clicking on the camera icon at the top of the tool bar next to where you are typing the text of your post. You can format the alignment of your image, the size of your image, and whether you want a pop up screen to view your full sized image. Adding tags to your photos is a great way to help others recognize what they are looking at. Who stitched it? Who is the designer? What needleart is it? You can also organize your photos into albums, if you want to keep all of your finished objects from 2009 in one album or perhaps step by step photos of a piece you are stitching in a different album.
How do I delete a photo? To delete a photo, go to that photo's detail page. In the toolbar to the right of the photo, locate the red X with a link to "Delete Photo." Click on this link.
How do I see a specific person's photos? You can view a member's photos page by clicking on their name under a photo, or by selecting their name under All Members in the "Meet and Share" tab.
How do I report an offensive photo? When you're signed in, click "Report an Issue," which appears as a link at the bottom of every page on the site. This will alert the Network Creator to the offensive photo.
Groups
How do I join a group? To join a group you need to be a member of Stitcherie. To browse our groups, go to the Groups sub-tab under "Meet & Share." Find a group you would like to join and click on its title to view the group page. If you would like to join the group, click on "Join group name" in the upper right corner.
Blog
Do I have a blog? Every member of Stitcherie has his or her own page on the site, including a blog. To get to your blog, click on the My Page tab. Select "Blog Posts" on the left sidebar. From here you can go to your own blog or post.
