Comment by Melissa MacLeod on February 2, 2013 at 10:29am Thanks so much for the detailed explanation - I post pic and instruction to my Pinterest board! I also may use this technique on the bow on my Stitching Games Canvas...

Comment by Judy Gartman on January 31, 2013 at 4:05pm Palma, good looking cones! I will have to try Donbeading. I love your choice of pearls on the ribbon. That kind of ribbon I can do, it is only when it gets loopy that it is annoying.
Comment by K.B. on January 31, 2013 at 4:02pm I've been drooling over the Seascapes line--so many gorgeous blues!
Comment by Pat Wingate on January 31, 2013 at 4:00pm No, that was a compliment. It looks happy.
Comment by K.B. on January 31, 2013 at 3:53pm Starfish doing the chicken dance? Ok, maybe I'm turned off now.
Comment by K.B. on January 31, 2013 at 3:53pm Pat, I don't think there's any applique involved. Pretty sure that's all pieced.
Comment by K.B. on January 31, 2013 at 3:51pm Oh thank you, Palma.
Currently, I'm trying to finish cutting out all those pinks, purples, and oranges (nearly there, but the background is another subject); sewing the rows together on a Christmas quilt (it wasn't done in time for Xmas 2012); cutting out a princess quilt for the Princess; and hoping to make a big enough space to race through a Cat in the Hat quilt for the kindergarten teacher. Then I'll back, quilt, and bind the technicolor wonder. :) Of course there are other things going on, but those take precedence.
At some point, I probably will indulge in this quilt. I've always loved snail trail blocks. Never pieced one, mind you, but I love the look of them.
Comment by Pat Wingate on January 31, 2013 at 3:46pm Very pretty... looks like starfish doing the chicken dance. Looks like applique would be involved...gasp
