He does look ready to fly right off the canvas (but I hope he won't). I've never done needle weaving - is it executed over 2 loops of wire?

Thanks Jeannine, he was a blast to do. I satin stitched his head and and tent stitched his antennae and legs. The body is a succession of bullion knots and the eyes are 2 beads. Very easy to do too! His wings are picot needle woven.
