The first of the year is traditionally the time of beginnings, of finally getting started on things you'd promised yourself you would do or stop doing, in some cases. Many here on Stitcherie have posted their stitching goals for 2012 and that got a friend and I to talking about tracking down old projects and getting photos taken to keep up with what we have stitched already. I have a new four part series starting in the Nov/Dec 2011 issue of Needlepoint Now called Prismatic Quartet. It is my latest foray into counted/charted needlepoint design. Charted work is far more challenging than designing painted canvas I have found, but it is fun to do. I started out in needlework as a cross stitcher and my first needlepoints were from charts as that is a natural crossing-over point. K.B. said… The "new" thread is a Needle Necessities overdye. This one is #155. I've used this brand before, but not this color. I used it as the dots in swiss dot in the orchid area behind the owls. Sadly, they don't stand out much once the Splendor portion of the stiching went in. Live and learn.
I'll post a picture of it thus far just for your viewing pleasure.
